Cinco de Mayo is just around the corner and we are already serving up some Strawberry Chipotle Margaritas. A great margarita can be made with limes, tequila, triple sec & ice. Add just a couple of spoonfuls of jam and you will be rewarded with tons of flavor.
This margarita is tart, limey, and finishes with a mild smoky spice. That means it goes down real easy. If strawberry isn’t your jam try this technique with Peach Basil, Pear Ginger, or Blueberry Sage Jam.
I make most of my cocktails in a mason jar because I have a million of them and I can drink out of the shaker. If you want a salted rim you should have a second jar prepared to pour the mixed drink into.
Strawberry Chipotle Margarita (serves 1)
Fill a pint jar with ice and add:
- 2-3 heaping tablespoons of Strawberry Chipotle Jam
- 1oz triple sec
- 2oz tequila
- 2 small limes, juiced (shaking with lime halves is optional)
- Splash water or soda (optional)
- Salt for the rim (smoked sea salt for the win!)
Seal the jar with a lid and shake your heart out for 45 seconds or until the jam has melted and the liquid is frothy. Pour into jar or glass with a salted rim.
Enjoy!
