Garlicky Steamed Broccoli
This is an easy and healthy side that is simple and full of flavor. Best of all the ingredients are few.
- 1 head of broccoli, pared into bite-sized pieces
- 2-3Tb of olive oil
- 1-2 cloves of garlic (or more!), crushed
- Salt & pepper
I begin by setting up my water pan for the steamer. While the water heats, I place a large metal bowl over the water, and the oil and garlic in the bowl to heat while I pare my broccoli. When the broccoli is chopped and the oil is warm, add the broccoli to the oil/garlic, season well and toss to coat.
Transfer the shiny garlic covered broccoli to steamer (which has been placed over the water, replacing the oil bowl) and steam till tender, Approx 7 minutes or until it pierces easily with a fork.
